linguistic mangler

i volunteer to help HOM get a script translated from english to chinese. it should be simple enough, he says. use google translator. much anguish and little success later, this is what i say:

• chinese yoda syntax like is.
• computer generated permutations can boggle the mind.
• not a good project if you are dysfunctional in one of the languages.

and if you think, like i did, that you can paste an essay into the box press a button and voila! get an essay in the new language, you have too much misplaced faith in machines.
